A little daily care routine can lead to a longer life for your scissors!
As you can see from this photo, rust has built up in the pivot area and will adversely affect the scissors' performance and ultimately result in permanent damage. After routine use, hair and debris between the blades will hold moisture which eventually causes rust.
The good news is that this can be easily prevented if you factor in a little time at the end of the day to wipe down your blades and scissors ready for the next session. We recommend and stock H42 Cleaners and Oils for the job.
It is really beneficial if your end of day routine includes adding a droplet of oil to the pivot area. This small action will help flush out any hair or debris and maintain a smooth mechanical action. Importantly, it removes moisture that is trapped in the hair and debris which, if left, can sit eroding the metal for about 12 hours a night! So, adding a droplet of oil will go a long way in protecting your equipment.
